Texas RM57 port (Cortex R5)

Hi, the RM series has one version with a R5 core: RM57L843 http://www.ti.com/product/rm57l843 Do you have plans for a port for that core in the near future or can I make adaptations to the RM48 to make it work? Kind regards, Lars

Our roadmap at the moment is extremely full, and the R5 is not yet on it, but that is not to say there won’t be a port once we are over the immediate hump of work – having said that we are permanently on a hump of work :o) It may be that the R4 code works on the R5 too. The R4 ports in general need some maintenance work anyway. Regards.

I can imagine that. 😉 Had a look in the TI Hercules forum and it seems they are working on a R5 port for HALCoGen. And as you say, the R4 may already work. Thanks, Lars

Hi. I’m trying to use freeRTOS on RM57. Could you give me a sample project or files?

I’m afraid all the sample projects for the RMxx parts are those available in the FreeRTOS .zip file download. You may be able to find an example somewhere other than the FreeRTOS website though (maybe even the FreeRTOS Interactive site) but I am not personally aware of any. If the cores are the same in the RM48 and RM57 then the following page may provide some help as the same FreeRTOS port could be used. http://www.freertos.org/porting-a-freertos-demo-to-different-hardware.html Regards.
